PROJECT DESCRIPTION :
The project involved acquiring various digital & analog data from various systems maintained in a naval ship for further processing & control.

Various data related signals pertaining to temperature, acoustics, radar, etc… in a ship are captured onto a main server for further analysis, computation and control mechanisms.

DESIGN OVERVIEW:
The system consists of a High Availability CPX 2408 8 slot, compact PCI platform, High Availability Software, Third Party ATM cards and solutions

The CPX 2408 is a 8 slot CPCI chassis from Motorola. This system has a single domain with two main controller slots & two hot swap controller cards. The remaining 4 slots are for I/O cards. The system provides 99.999% (5 NINES) reliability

The I/O cards for data acquisition included 8 channel ADC and 8 channel DAC boards, 2 port ATM cards from third party companies such as Interphase Corp, and Tews Technologies

EMBED TECH ROLE:

Our role included system design & acceptance, configuration, installation of the entire system, device driver development for third party I/O cards, development of high availability drivers, testing and field implementation.
