PROJECT DESCRIPTION :
The project involved expanding the mobile connectivity services of BSNL from New Delhi towards the suburban cities and thereby expands through the North India region. Embed Technologies performed the System Design & System Integration activities for CDOT (Center For Development of Telematics).

DESIGN OVERVIEW:
The system consists of a High Availability Compact PCI 16 slot platform from Motorola Computer Group, called as CPX 8216
The CPX 8216 has two domains, each of 8 slots. Each domain has a dedicated CPU Controller Slot and Hot Swap Controller slot
The High Availability Software is ported on the CPU controller slot card. Whenever there is a failure in the application level or system level, the operation is automatically switched to the from the faulty domain to the healthy domain. Thereby, complete redundancy of the system is achieved. The system’s failure rate is estimated at 5 mins in a year, thereby providing 99.9999% reliability. ( 6 NINES Reliability )
The I/O slots are meant for the I/O functions. Third Party 8 ports, E1 termination cards from Performance Technologies were used.

EMBED TECH ROLE:

Our role included system design & acceptance, configuration, installation of the entire system, device driver development for third party I/O cards, development of high availability drivers, testing and field implementation.
